These batteries aren't nearly as bulky as the SLA (sealed lead acid) batteries in the earlier ESR750H model.

The two modes of performance let the rider have the choice between an “Economy” mode with a range of 14 miles and a top speed of 12 mph, or "Turbo" mode with a range of 8 miles and a max speed of 20 mph. On this scooter, you have absolute control over the kind of performance you want from it.
